Jim took my nephew, brother, my dad, and I out to fish. I am in a wheelchair and had doubts about getting onto the boat because I couldn't stand and transfer. That didn't stop Jim, between him and my brother and nephew they lifted me in my chair into the boat. I didn't catch any fish but had a wonderful time. I can't thank Jim enough for his patience, direction, and making me feel welcome. -Natalye H. May 2016
My husband and I both love to fish but we only had a couple of days at Grand Lake and didn't want to spend the time trying to find the fish. Through the recommendation of many of the locals, we were directed to Jim at Rocky Mountain Outfitters and we were NOT disappointed. Jim is very knowledgeable about the local lakes and the techniques to catch the various fish. We went fishing for Lake Trout and for two solid hours we fished non-stop (catch and release). Jim was very willing to share his knowledge not only about fishing but about the local area. With his advice, we located two different Elk Herds inside of Rocky Mountain National Park. Thanks Jim. We will be back.

"Our family cannot thank Rocky Mountain Outfitters enough for the experience! Jim and Allen are amazing guides and the knowledge we took with us was priceless, not to mention our first pikes, and mac's in one day! Plus the HUGE bonus rainbow!! Definitely the highlight of our families vacation, the kids have not stopped talking about it. Thank You! See you for ice season
I used to think I knew how to fish for Lake trout and then I met Jimmy Gasner and he changed my whole game. When you fish with Jimmy, expect your outing to include a whole lot more than just catching a couple of fish. Jimmy, unlike most guides, wants to share enough knowledge and technique that you can return on your own and catch fish! He will share thoughts regarding boat positioning, electronics, structure, presentation, baits, theory, and how to apply the varying technologies available today, to catch more fish. He loves Grand Lake and has a long term view of what the lake can be, if properly managed. I really believe a state record mackinaw will be caught from Grand Lake soon, due to the many inputs and efforts displayed by Jimmy and his family and staff. Grand Lake is a tough lake to learn to fish! Do yourself a favor and spend as much time with Jimmy as your budget allows. You will not regret it!!
"WE ARE HOOKED! <><"
The Gateway Inn suggested we call Jim at RMO before we drove up to Grand Lake to go Ice Fishing! Conditions have been sketchy this season.. Best advice ever!!! Not only was Jim super friendly to speak with on the phone and full of information, but genuine to the core upon meeting him and his family! You can tell when a person loves their job and or passion and wants to share exciting experiences while educating willing beginners along the way to a successful fishing experience! WE ARE HOOKED! <><
Thank You so much for all you did for us! We can't wait to get back!!!

Wife suggested we get a guided trip
for last trip to Grand Lake for the summer.
Will be seeing you guys soon!
Travis an I were fishing Grand Lake for the first time. Without Jim's friendliness, knowledge, helpfulness, and professionalism we would have left deeply disappointed and extremely frustrated. Thanks Jim for everything. We highly recommend Jim and Rocky Mountain Outfitters for any of your fishing needs.

"Jim is very knowledgeable about fishing on Grand Lake. He knows where to find them and the latest lure/bait combinations they are hitting. He made our first ice fishing experience fun and easy by having everything set up before we arrived. We had an outstanding experience."
